Samantha Forbes, LPC, CHC, AADP
Samantha is a Masters Level Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Certified Health Coach (CHC) with over 12 years of behavioral health experience, several of which included direct work in behavior change with individuals, groups and families. Rounding out her perspective from direct service, for the last 8 years she has been studying behavioral health treatment from a systems perspective and has led and been engaged in numerous initiatives designed to improve quality and access to behavioral health services for thousands of people in Recovery from mental health and addiction issues. In this role she has twice received recognition for her ability to effectively lead, train and motivate. In 2009 she was recognized in Hartford Magazine as one of the cities prominent “Movers and Shakers” Most recently she is a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition where she studied over 100 dietary theories and solidified a holistic perspective of wellness. She has begun a small coaching practice in which she conducts workshops and helps her clients achieve their health goals. She is extremely passionate about inspiring hope and confidence in individuals to achieve their own optimal state of wellness through education and support, creating a ripple effect on the world.
Brettnee Nelson, Professional Makeup Artist
Brettnee has had a life-long love affair with the arts. Born into a family of artistically creative individuals, it’s no mystery where her passion and inventiveness was formed. Brettnee’s family includes musicians, artists, painters and even quilters. At a very young age, Brettnee decided crayons, markers and paint brushes were the tools she would utilize to express her creativity to the world. Having the ability to draw any object by sight and bring them to live with color proved that she definitely made the right choice. A graduate of the University of Hartford, Brettnee holds a Bachelors degree in Communications with a combined focus on Advertising, Marketing and Art. After years of pounding the pavement, Brettnee decided to pursue the career that fulfilled her artistic desires. It didn’t take long for her to discover that what inspired her most was the beauty she could create with makeup brushes. She took her extensive background in art and parlayed that into a successful career as a makeup artist. Brettnee’s diverse background and experience creates a unique style accredited only to her and her artistic talent. She has the innate ability to bring out the natural beauty of her subject, no matter the gender, ethnicity, or character portrayal.
